"Momnesia"

Momnesia(n)-to loose or to have lost ones short-term memory due to the excessive amount of dirty diapers, housework and mom "stuff" that one incurs during the child-bearing years.

I'm cursed with "momnesia". Lately I've been walking into a room and completely forgetting why I walked in there. Justin started talking to me about a lady from our church that I know very well. I had to tell him to stop talking for a sec so I could get my bearings together and remember WHO in the heck he was talking about. I was certain I didn't know the lady he was speaking of. Momnesia struck again. It's hard to tell who will be its next victim, but once it strikes it's like those baby bad guys on Super Mario Bros. III. You know...the little brown ones that fell from the butts of the winged brown gumshoe things?? They would swirl around you and all you could do was keep jumping like an idiot to get them off. But you could hardly jump! It's kinda like that. Once momnesia strikes there's A LOT of inadequate jumping that needs to be done to get rid of it.

Anywho...what was I saying??

Soooooo true! The brain cells disappear, taking our memories with them, and then we forget what it was we were trying to remember to go and find again. I think chocolate and coffee are the only reasonable solutions.

I have that too! And I have to say that I think it starts in pregnancy. It has to have something to do with the hormones. Then mommydom comes (the dirty diapers etc.) and there is no going back. I do agree with the other comment though. Chocolate is the best medicine!

"A whole gang of chocolate (breathing heavily)....I need it badly!!!"

And yes, sadly my "momnesia" began in early pregnancy and has never really left. The saddest part of all? I think it gets worse with subsequent pregnancies. I think another pregnancy would render me completely incompetent! Not good with two little ones and a vast trail of responsabilities lol!!
