Precious Moments

That's what I remember most when I'm with my children. Today, while Elijah was napping, Gabe and I enjoyed a few yummy minutes of dipping strawberries in melted chocolate. It was so fun to see him enjoy his little self. But then it turned into dip Gabe's fingers in the chocolate...then dip the strawberries in the chocolate and eat them before they're cooled....needless to say we NEEDED clean-up time. By the time we were done the strawberries weren't the only thing covered in chocolate!! And all this got me thinking (dangerous I know!), what other fun things are there to do with toddlers??? I must admit my creative genious (after an eight hour day at work on 5 hours of sleep) doesn't get beyong coloring, play-dough, and playing with toys. So...what do you blogdom moms do with your little ones?? Any suggestions for me and my little guy during Elijah's nap time?

AND...work is going very well. I work around 30 hours/week, and I generally work 1st shift (7-3 am) which works out perfectly. I get home from work around 3:30, get a bite to eat, since we don't get breaks (CRAZY) and then I take over with the kids/bath-time/and bed-time, which makes for a busy day. And then if I'm not too tired, I need to work on songs and Sunday School lessons for the following week, as well as any other house work that needs done...and believe me...there's PLENTY!!. I am swamped sometimes, but I am so very grateful for this answer to prayer. Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy being a "working mom," but then I meet all these wonderful people at work and see how much they need the Lord, and I remember what an awesome priviledge it is to be able to show Christ's love to them. That is what keeps me going....and I guess the bills getting payed is a good incentive too, huh??

P.S. While I was writting this, Gabriel took himself to his little potty and pooped!!!! I am one proud mama!!! He is currently using his big-boy potty IF he doesn't have a diaper, pull-ups or big boy underware on. In other words, the kid will only use the potty if he's butt naked. Which works for now I guess. And I have NO IDEA how in the world to potty train him! I am completely flying by the seat of my pants, and I'll tell you this: the view ain't so pretty sometimes. Actually the view is usually of my soiled carpet while I scrub it. BUT...not lately as Gabriel has been using the potty every time he has to go (when naked of course). *sigh* It works. And he gets a treat every time he goes. By treat I mean some sugary substance popularly known as candy. And since he's been going so well and so often the sugar level has been adding up. I think the experts are full of it, because sugar DOES make my son hyper...I don't care what they say! For example, he now gets like, one skittle if he goes potty, instead of a handful. I am one proud mama!!!

Good luck on the whole potty training thing. It may not be a conventional method, but if the naked bum works, go for it. But how does that work in public? I also love to savor those precious moments with my little one. It's so sweet you never want it to end. But then somehow they always remind you the otherside with a tantrum or something. Being a mom makes me feel schitzophrenic sometimes, but it's a great feeling. And I love to steal peeks when he's sleeping. So angelic.

Glad to hear everything is going well in your busy house! Congrats with the potty training! Gabe reminds me of my little brother. When we did things like make cookies or something with my mom cleanup usually took an hour becuz stuff was everywhere!! Say hi to your hubby for me :)

Painting wth pudding is fun...and he'll help you clean up, I guarantee it!

Also, crayola.com has great and easy patterns for making musical instruments out of everyday items in your house. Then you and Gabe can be a rock band.

We dance a lot, sing a lot, and puppet show a lot...gets their creativity going, and the Praise and Worhsip music keeps me sane.
