Gripe!

Well as circumstances would have it, Justin was layed off from Best Buy Wednesday. Apparently they had him down for seasonal (so NOT was he was contracted for) and since the busy Christmas season is over, so is his job. They told him this on Wednesday of this week, Thursday was his last day, and he wasn't on next weeks schedule. Nothing like short notice, huh? This is extrememly frustrating to us as we just had to get a new vehicle because of Justin's accident and we purchased the vehicle BASED on his salary through Best Buy and the church combined. I am definitely looking forward to how the Lord is going to work through this. My faith is definitely being tried as there are bills to pay, kids to take care of, and food to put on the table. But I know He will take care of us somehow and that's pretty much all I know at this point. I hestitate sharing this for various reasons, but I know in the end the Lord will get the glory as I share how He provides.

We're in the same boat, Jess...it's hard and stressful, I know:( They just cut ALL of Dane's overtime, which was our only means of survival since he took the job a year and a half ago. We can pay our mortgage, but that's about it. It sucks! I hope he can find work elsewhere...maybe something that's not retail? Good luck, and keep us posted...

I'm sorry to hear that you're in the same crappy boat, but it sure is comforting to know someone understands what you're facing. As I pray about our situation I will be sure to remember your family as well...especially with your newest addition so close!

I think the biggest problem with finding work in this area is that there isn't a lot of anything readily available that's STABLE, you know what I mean? Even then, stable is relevant, as we thought what he had (we were TOLD what he had) was fixed. So I am praying that he's able to find something soon in this area, so that he doesn't have to travel a hour (both ways combined) to get there like he had to with Best Buy. Either way a job is definitely the main thing!

Ugh...! Does he have any accounting skills? Because now would be a GREAT time to work for H & R Block during tax season...or something similar...unfortunately, at least around here, that's about the only job available until April or May-ish:( I know quite often H & R will train, though...and it pays decent, too...or what about a video store?? Dane's checking into CPA firms, but I want him to look into Menard's, too (not sure if you have that there or not?)

Good luck, and again, keep us posted!

Oi, that's tough. Hang in there. He might try the IRS. They hire seasonly, too, but the season could last through October.

I've been there. We lived with friends, when all we could do is pay our car note and the insurance on it, and just some of the grocery bill. It's tough.

And this is the time to do a budget. You need to write down everything you need to pay, and how much you need to survive. You might be surprised at how it works out.

Thinking about ya, and praying for ya.

Hugs,
Melinda
