My New Love!!!

Okay, let me start off by adamantly stating that ever since I was diagnosed with a dog allergy some years ago, I've detested dogs. The detestion (is that a word?) of cats came a bit later, after my beloved cat Munchkin *sniff* passed away. That was so traumatic for me that I guess I was never able to "love" again. Anyways all this to say that this will dramatically intensify the nature of this post. And so, given my strong desire against most pets with hair, smell, and everything that goes with them, a dramatic thing happened! I met a dog. Her name was Jasmine or as her owners affectionally called her, "Jazzi", and she's a Miniature (Teacup) Yorkshire "Yorike" Terrier (just like above pic). Gabe fell in love with her and made sure that wherever she decided to lay her sweet head, that she was comfortably wrapped in a blanket while he sat protectively beside her patting the blanket and whispering, "It's okay, doggie." Cute. Anyways that little booger snatched a piece of my heart and the next time we saw her I even picked her up (those of you who know me know this is a HUGE deal for me). I fell in love. But we had to go. Now, my parents have a dog...a Toy Fox Terrier. Small, but but still about 5 times bigger than a Yorkie. And in keeping rank, I detested that dog too. BUT (and this is a big but) last time I was visiting that dog loved me. It was so weird (prolly because I fed it Elijah's toast scraps). Anywho, slowly but surely I found myself smilling at it, talking to it like it actually exsisted, and (now this is huge) letting it snuggle on the blanket with me while watching a movie! He kinda weasled his way into my heart, too. These blasted dogs!! So...what's my point? Well, I'm glad you asked! I want, absolutely have to have, can't live without, will never be complete without.....a miniature (teacup) Yorkshire "Yorkie" Terrier. These dogs, however, are pretty pricey. So I'm certain that I'll have to find a way to manage until she comes my way (yes I will get another girl in this house somehow if it KILLS me:P) and provinding the name fits I'm gonna call her "Sweet Pea." This dream will be a long time in coming I'm sure, but I just had to share my newest love with the world!!

I am a changed person. It's insane. Sometimes I wake up and wonder who the heck I am! Call it crazy....call it....love :)

Yeah, so, I hate cats. HATE 'EM. And we got two kittens over labor day. They were a pain in he BUTT and drove me crazy. always into everything. So, I got rid of them 2 weeks ago. And the night I packed them in their kennel to go, the tears started flowin'...and they didn't stop until *ahem* after I begged the new owners to get them back:( Apparently, I fell in love, too, and somhow missed it! I would have still much rather it had been with a dog, but those blasted fur balls won me over. And I hate them for it:) Life would be SO much easier without them! But it was like giving away two of our kids! Don't you hate how stupid 4-legged fur balls have that capability?????

What a sweet story. I love to hear stories like that. And I agree: It's amazing the capacity to induce crazy love our four-legged furry friends possess!

I desperately want a Yorkie to. It's the only hypo-allergenic dog that Luke doesn't detest and I love dogs. A friend of mine bought one in Indiana for $350 (instead of $1300 in DC) and spent an additional $50 to have it flown in. Apparently it's really common to fly puppies like that. Anyway it's given me home that someday I'll be able to afford a puppy.
