Yippee!!

Tonight is a full moon. Is it just me, or do freaky-deeky things happen when there's a full moon? I mean, think about it. Our body contains approximately 10-12 gallons of water (somewhere around 60%), and if the moon is able to summon the tides in and out, how much of an effect would that have on our bodies-being mostly water? Iono, but one thing I do know...my kids get WWWEEEIIIIIRRRRDDDD on full moon nights! And, promptly at 9 am this morning, it began. One of my friends is a children's nurse at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the cancer ward and she claims that all her kids go coo-coo on nights like this. Call me crazy. Call me what you will. But I find it more than just an interesting coincidence. So I'm bracing myself for the insanity ahead. If I survive, I'll let my eager public know how it all goes down.

*Update* I survived. Though, if anyone had a rough night...it was me!! Silly.

Actually, it does have an effect on our bodies. When I used to work at the nursing home,we ALWAYS knew when it was a full moon. The residents would get NUTS...it was usually those nights when we'd have to pull out the restraints, because we'd get several that would be come violent, several that would just get up and slip out of their rooms and wander into other peoples' rooms, and a few in particulr, would get EXTREMELY vulgar. I didn't notice as much chaos when I worked at the hospital in the general medical unit, but when I did, it was usually in the elderly or the ones who were already suffering from some for of dementia or other mental challenges. I think it does effect the kids and the elderly the most. I had no idea yesterday was a full moon. That certainly would explain the psychotic behavior out of my children yesterday!!
